About

Niti Majethia
is a writer, journalist and poet.
She earned her Bachelor’s in Rhetoric and Writing
from The University of Texas at Austin
and is pursuing her Master’s in Journalism
at CUNY’s Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism
in New York City.


JOURNALISM

Majethia worked for Kidspirit Online as
a Writer and then Satellite Editor from Mumbai
while she was in high school.
She also won three writing awards
from Kidspirit Online.

In college, Majethia reported on fashion and lifestyle
for Spark Magazine in Austin, Texas.
She was then promoted to Copy Editor
for their digital platform.

In 2020, she interned full-time
for Austin’s newspaper,
The Austin Chronicle.

In 2022, she worked as a full-time
Lifestyle and Culture Reporter for
The Indian Express in Mumbai, India.

In 2023, she interned full-time at Condé Nast Traveller India.

She is currently a Community Reporter for The Mott Haven Herald
and NYCity News Service in New York.


BOOKS

Majethia published her first poetry collection
called Eunoia when she was 16.
It is available for purchase here.

She published her second poetry book
The Battle Cry: A Little Book of
Comfort and Strength
while she was in college.

The Battle Cry was positively reviewed
by two-time Pulitzer Prize nominee
Mr. Henry William Brands Jr and
also won her the award of ‘Poet of the Year’
from Ukiyoto Publishing.


PUBLIC SPEAKING

Apart from various independent events such as
Uplift Festival in Byron Bay, Australia,
Majethia has performed her poetry
at shows by RAW Artists in Austin, Texas.

In 2019, she was invited to the United Nations
to share her poetry about womanhood
on International Women’s Day.

She has also performed her poetry at The Habitat
and collaborated with Awaken Words in Mumbai.

MARKETING

After graduating from UT Austin,
Majethia worked full-time at UPL as their
Global Marketing Communications Coordinator.

In 2022, she also interned at Disney+ Hotstar
for marketing the Disney/Pixar and Marvel titles
on the platform.
